#Trust30 Day 11- Fear by Lachlan Cotter

Fear by Lachlan Cotter

These are the voices which we hear in solitude, but they grow faint and inaudible as we enter into the world. Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Is fear holding you back from living your fullest life and being truly self expressed? Put yourself in the shoes of the you who’s already lived your dream and write out the answers to the following:

Is the insecurity you’re defending worth the dream you’ll never realize? or the love you’ll never venture? or the joy you’ll never feel?

Will the blunder matter in 10 years? Or 10 weeks? Or 10 days? Or 10 minutes?

Can you be happy being anything less than who you really are?

Now Do. The Thing. You Fear.

(Author: Lachlan Cotter)

Today’s Sentence:

Even when weary, it’s refreshing and renewing to enjoy a good laugh!

My Fears:

Are my fears holding me back.  That would be a gigantic YES.  Is the insecurity I’m defending worth not reaching my dreams – realistically and rationally – no.  Will it the blunders made along the way matter in the long run – of course not.

Can I be happy being less than who I really am?  There’s the rub.  Yes, I can.  I’m very very good at self-denial,  self-censure, self-degredation and punsishment.  Any “Self – x” that’s a negative, I’m good at.  I can be perfectly happy never realizing this dream because I in all other areas I have so many blessings.  And so it’s easy to hide behind my fear.  To allow the fear to win.

As to the last statement of today’s challenge – well I just now got home – it’s been a long day and I’m going to bed.  I’ll face the Do. IT. Now. portion, when I get up again.
